| | | Sec. 1. 19-A MRSA §2012 is enacted to read: |

| | | §2012.__Party not liable for parental support obligation |
|
| | | Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, a party | | is not liable for a parental support obligation for any period of | | time with respect to which the party proves that the child who is | | the subject of the parental support obligation lived with and was | | supported by that party. |

| | | This bill provides that a parent is not liable for a parental | | support obligation for any period of time that the child who is | | the subject of the parental support obligation lives with and is | | supported by that parent. |
