participates in those actions, the person is bound by the results | | of the actions described in paragraphs A, B and D. |

| | | 4.__Acknowledgment; requirements.__An acknowledgment under | | this section must: |
|
| | | B.__Be signed or otherwise authenticated, under penalty of | | perjury by the person seeking to establish parentage and by | | another parent of the child who resided with the child for | | the first 2 years of the child's life; |
|
| | | C.__ State that no action is pending and that no | | adjudication has been made, in any court, or in any | | administrative proceeding, concerning the parentage or the | | support of the child; |
|
| | | D.__State that the signatories understand that the | | acknowledgment is the equivalent of a judicial adjudication | | of parentage of the child and that a challenge to the | | acknowledgment is permitted only under limited circumstances | | and is barred after 2 years. |
|
| | | 5.__Acknowledgment void.__An acknowledgment under this section | | is void if it: |
|
| | | A.__States that another person is an acknowledged father or | | adjudicated parent; or |
|
| | | B.__Falsely denies the existence of an acknowledged father | | or adjudicated parent of the child. |
|
| | | 6.__Procedure for challenge.__An acknowledgment under this | | section may be challenged by commencing an action in court, in | | accordance with this subsection: |
|
| | | A.__The action may be filed only by a person who was not a | | signatory to the acknowledgment. |
|
| | | B.__The action must be commenced within 2 years after the | | filing of the acknowledgment. |
|
| | | C.__The party bringing the action has the burden of proof. |
|
| | | D.__The court shall declare the acknowledgment void if it | | finds that the person whose parentage is established by the | | acknowledgment did not meet the requirements stated in | | section 1844, subsection 1, paragraph E. |
