| | | A. A representative from an organization whose purpose it | | is to advance the position of women; |

| | | B. A representative from an organization that advocates for | | low-income people; and |
|
| | | C. A representative from an agency providing community | | economic development services; |
|
| | | 10. The Director of the State Planning Office; |
|
| | | 11. The Commissioner of Health and Human Services, or the | | commissioner's designee; and |
|
| | | 12. The Commissioner of Labor, or the commissioner's | | designee; and be it further |

| | | Sec. 3. Chairs. Resolved: That the first-named Senate member is the | | Senate chair of the commission and the first-named House of | | Representatives member is the House chair of the commission; and | | be it further |

| | | Sec. 4. Appointments; convening of commission. Resolved: That all | | appointments must be made no later than 30 days following the | | effective date of this resolve. The appointing authorities shall | | notify the Executive Director of the Legislative Council once all | | appointments have been completed. Within 15 days after | | appointment of all members, the chairs shall call and convene the | | first meeting of the commission; and be it further |

| | | Sec. 5. Duties. Resolved: That the commission shall study the issues | | surrounding liveable wages. In conducting its review, the | | commission shall undertake to: |

| | | 1. Define what level of compensation constitutes a liveable | | wage; |
|
| | | 2. Identify ways to ensure that all Maine adults earn a | | liveable wage; |
|
| | | 3. Examine the efficacy of a state earned income tax credit | | that would enable working families to meet their basic needs; |
