Sec. 1. Designation as 3-1-1 business assistance services line. Resolved: That the
Department of Economic and Community Development shall apply to
the Federal Communications Commission for designation as the sole
entity entitled to use the abbreviated 3-1-1 telephone number in
this State. The department shall operate the 3-1-1 number as a
means of providing access to the department's Business Answers
program and expand the hours of operation of the program from 7
a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, exclusive of weekends and holidays.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve requires the Department of Economic and Community
Development to apply for exclusive use of the 3-1-1 phone number
and to use that phone number as a means of providing access to
the Business Answers program operated by the department. This
resolve also requires the department to expand the hours of
operation of the Business Answers phone line from 7 a.m. to 9
p.m.
