Sec. 1. Develop strategies. Resolved: That the Department of Health and
Human Services shall develop strategies to use tobacco tax
revenue to support smoking cessation, reductions in tobacco use
and improvements to public and community health; and be it
further

 
Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human
Services shall submit its report on the strategies developed
under section 1, together with any necessary implementing
legislation, to the Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human
Services no later than November 2, 2005. Following its receipt
and review of the report, the committee may report out a bill to
the Second Regular Session of the 122nd Legislature.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve directs the Department of Health and Human
Services to develop strategies to reduce tobacco use and improve
public health.
