| | | Sec. 1. 3 MRSA §964 is enacted to read: |

| | | §964.__Termination of new programs and agencies |

| | | Beginning January 1, 2006, any new program or agency | | established or funded by the Legislature automatically sunsets 8 | | years from the date of its first being established or funded, | | whichever first occurs, unless the agency or program is extended | | through legislative action prior to the date of sunset. |

| | | This bill establishes an automatic sunset on all new agencies | | or programs established or funded beginning January 1, 2006 | | unless the agency or program is extended through legislative | | action prior to the date of sunset. |
