Sec. 1. 24 MRSA §2332-N is enacted to read:

§2332-N.__Coverage for breast reduction and symptomatic

varicose vein surgery

All individual and group nonprofit hospital and medical services plan policies, contracts and certificates and all nonprofit health care plan policies, contracts and certificates must provide coverage for medically necessary breast reduction and symptomatic varicose vein surgery.

Sec. 2. 24-A MRSA §2761 is enacted to read:

§2761.__Coverage for breast reduction and symptomatic

varicose vein surgery

All individual health insurance policies, contracts and certificates, except accidental injury, specified disease, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long-term care and other limited benefit health insurance policies, contracts and certificates, must provide coverage for medically necessary breast reduction and symptomatic varicose vein surgery.

Sec. 3. 24-A MRSA §2847-L is enacted to read:

§2847-L.__Coverage for breast reduction and symptomatic

varicose vein surgery

All group health insurance policies, contracts and certificates must provide coverage for medically necessary breast reduction and symptomatic varicose vein surgery.

Sec. 4. 24-A MRSA §4252 is enacted to read:

§4252.__Coverage for breast reduction and symptomatic

varicose vein surgery

All health maintenance organization individual and group health insurance policies, contracts and certificates must provide coverage for medically necessary breast reduction and symptomatic varicose vein surgery.

Sec. 5. Application. This Act applies to health insurance policies, contracts and certificates executed, delivered, issued for delivery, continued or renewed in this State on or after January 1, 2006.
