| | | Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §1832, sub-§5, as enacted by PL 1997, c. 678, §13, is | | amended to read: |

| | | 5. User fees. The Except as provided in subsection 6, the | | bureau may charge reasonable fees to defray the cost of | | constructing and maintaining overnight campsites and other | | camping and recreation facilities. |

The bureau may not | | allow an access gate to be operated on or fees to be__charged for | | camping or day use on the Seboomook Lake purchase.__For the | | purposes of this section, "Seboomook Lake purchase" means the | | land surrounding Seboomook Lake and__Canada Falls Lake that was | | transferred to the bureau in December 2003 and is commonly | | accessed via the road traversing Pittston Academy Grant, T2 R4 | | NBKP. |

| | | This bill prohibits the operation of an access gate and the | | charging of camping or day use fees on certain lands recently | | acquired and managed by the Department of Conservation, Bureau of | | Parks and Lands. It defines the Seboomook Lake purchase. |
