Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §4319
is enacted to read:
§4319.__Fees paid to Wild Blueberry Association of North
America
The Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine may not pay a fee to
the Wild Blueberry Association of North America or a successor
organization on a per-pound basis that is greater than the fee
paid by Canadian members of the Wild Blueberry Association of
North America, taking into account the current exchange rate
for United States and Canadian currency.
SUMMARY
This bill prohibits the Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine
from paying higher fees to the Wild Blueberry Association of
North America than do the Canadian members of the association,
taking into account the current exchange rate for United
States and Canadian currency.
