Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §59-C is enacted to read:

§59-C.__Public testimony before professional or occupational

licensing board

A professional or occupational licensing board shall allow members of the public a reasonable opportunity to provide oral testimony to the board at any hearing or meeting conducted by the board that is open to the public if that testimony is relevant to an issue before the professional or occupational licensing board.

SUMMARY

This bill ensures members of the public a reasonable opportunity to provide oral testimony at public meetings of professional or occupational licensing boards if that testimony is relevant to an issue before the professional or occupational licensing board.
