Sec. 1. Rules. Resolved: That the Department of Human Services
shall adopt rules by January 1, 2004 that establish a program
that will allow the department to accept and transmit
electronically prior authorization requests for services under
the MaineCare program. Rules adopted pursuant to this resolve
are routine technical rules as defined in the Maine Revised
Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve requires the Department of Human Services to
adopt rules that establish a program that gives the department
the capability of receiving and responding electronically to
requests for services under the MaineCare program from
physician offices.
