| This bill establishes the Maine Research and Development |
| Evaluation Fund to support the research and development |
| evaluation efforts of the Maine Science and Technology |
| Foundation. It establishes the fund as a nonlapsing Other |
| Special Revenue fund and grants the State Budget Officer the |
| authority to transfer up to 0.8% of total General Fund |
| appropriations for research and development to the Maine Research |
| and Development Evaluation Fund. It also provides base Other |
| Special Revenue fund allocations to establish the fund for |
| budgetary purposes in fiscal year 2001-02 and fiscal year 2002- |
