Sec. 1. Development of guidelines. Resolved: That the Department of
Education shall develop guidelines for a school administrative
unit to follow when providing public education to a student who
has been indicted for or convicted of a violent crime.
Guidelines must be established by department rule and distributed
to school administrative units by January 1, 2002. Rules adopted
pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined
in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter
II-A.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve requires the Department of Education to develop
guidelines for a school administrative unit to follow when
providing public education to a student who has been indicted for
or convicted of a violent crime.
