| | | Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §4005, sub-§1, as amended by PL 1999, c. 251, §2, is | | further amended by adding at the end a new blocked paragraph to | | read: |

| | | A person serving as a guardian ad litem under this subsection | | acts as the court's agent and is entitled to quasi-judicial | | immunity for acts performed within the scope of the duties of the | | guardian ad litem. |
|
| | | This bill provides immunity to guardians ad litem appointed by | | a court in child protection proceedings. |
