| | | Sec. 1. 21-A MRSA §111, as amended by PL 1987, c. 423, §2, is | | further amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read: |

| | | A person who has been convicted of murder or a Class A crime | | in this State or of a violation of an equivalent state or federal | | law in another jurisdiction, as described in Title 17-A, section | | 4-A, may not vote in any local or state election. |
|
| | | This bill prohibits a person who has been convicted of murder | | or a Class A crime from voting. |
