Other Funds $6,000

This bill includes an Other Special Revenue funds allocation of $6,000 in fiscal year 2000-01, for the Office of Licensing and Registration of the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation to administer the licensure of interpreters for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Current revenue from registration fees is sufficient to meet this additional spending authority.

The bill replaces the annual registration fee of $100 with a licensing fee not to exceed $300 effective July 1, 2000. Dedicated revenue related to the increase in fees is expected to increase by $20,000 annually beginning in fiscal year 2002-03.
