§1671. Criminal justice planning committees
                  1. 
                                Establishment. 
                                Each county, or each county working jointly with another county or other counties or with the Department of Corrections, may establish a local criminal justice planning committee, referred to in this subchapter as "the committee."

                                Membership. 
                                Each committee is composed of representatives of various criminal justice stakeholder groups, including, but not limited to:

                                Duties. 
                                Each committee shall collaborate with each other and coordinate efforts to educate, update and increase the use of evidence-based community corrections practices at the local level.  The duties of each committee include:

                                        Developing and adopting a mission statement;

                                        Regularly assessing county correctional needs and determining what community correctional programs best meet those needs; and
