Fiscal Detail and Notes
The Regulation and Enforcement program within the Department of Labor will require ongoing General Fund appropriations of $71,259 in fiscal year 2023-24 and $99,479 in fiscal year 2024-25 for one Labor and Safety Inspector position and related All Other costs necessary to support the anticipated increase in workload related to the enforcement of the new exceptions to the law regarding the number of hours minor students may work to include minors participating in an equivalent instruction program, enrolled in a home instruction program or participating in an alternative school schedule approved by the superintendent of a school administrative unit.  This estimate assumes an October 1, 2023 effective date.
