This amendment decreases the General Fund cost of the bill by $1,175,240 in fiscal year 2022-23 by reducing General Fund appropriations in the bill to the newly created Maine Climate Corps Program - Maine Commission for Community Services program by $925,240 in fiscal year 2022-23 and eliminating the General Fund appropriation in the bill of $250,000 to the Maine Service Fellows Program. It also requires the State Controller to transfer a $150,000 to the Department of Education from the settlement funds received by the Office of the Attorney General for antitrust enforcement and enforcement of the Unfair Trade Practices Act to support 4 eligible participants of the Maine Climate Corps Program as well as opportunities for individuals to devote a year of service to communities in the State.
As amended, the bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $81,310 beginning in fiscal year 2022-23 to a newly established Maine Climate Corps Program - Maine Commission for Community Service program account to support one Maine Climate Corps Program leadership position. This bill also includes a one-time Other Special Revenue Funds allocation to the same program to support 4 eligible participants of the program. A one-time Other Special Revenue Funds allocation of $30,000 is provided in fiscal year 2022-23 to the Maine Service Fellows Program to increase the opportunities for individuals to devote a year of service to communities in the State.
