This bill may
increase the number of civil suits filed in the court system.
The additional workload associated with the minimal number of new cases
filed in the court system does not require additional funding at this time.
The collection of additional fines may increase General Fund and other
dedicated revenue by minor amounts. |

The Regulation
and Enforcement program within the Department of Labor will require a General
Fund appropriation of $105,824 in fiscal year 2020-21 for 2 Labor and Safety
Inspector positions and related All Other costs associated with investigating
and resolving complaints of an alleged violation of the earned paid sick
leave law. This preliminary fiscal impact statement assumes a start date of
January 1, 2021. |

Any penalty
assessed by the Department of Labor pursuant to section 637, subsection 14 of
this Act accrues to the General Fund. The increase in General Fund revenue
from these penalties can not be determined at this time. |
