| Fiscal Detail and Notes | ||||||
| The Department of Corrections will require additional General Fund appropriations to establish positive reentry parole. The amount of additional appropriations required can not be determined at this time and will require some additional policy decisions. An estimate compiled by the Department of Corrections reflects total initial costs of approximately $3,500,000. This includes $2,200,000 in one-time renovation costs to convert the Central Maine Pre-release Center into a reentry center. On-going annual costs of $1,300,000 reflect funding for an Advocate position and additional Probation and Parole Officers and related operating expenses. | ||||||
