Fiscal Detail and Notes
Whether or not additional funding will be required by the Workers' Compensation Board or the Department of Labor to implement the requirements of this legislation will depend on the recommendations made by the Board and the Department to the Joint Standing Committee on Labor and the actions taken by the committee and the Legislature as a whole during the Second Regular Session of the 124th Legislature.  Current funding estimates are that the Workers' Compensation Board may need allocations and the ability to raise its assessment cap to fund 6 positions and other expenses at approximately $400,000 annually.  The Department of Labor may require one additional employee and related expenditures funded through the General Fund at around $60,000 annually.
