	The Department of Environmental Protection  (DEP) is required to continue the maximum threshold of $250,000 in Environmental License application fees. The limit on the application fee was scheduled to decrease to $75,000 beginning September 1, 2009.  The $250,000 fee would apply only to one-of-a-kind projects which would cover the extraordinary costs the State would incur in processing the application.  The license application fees are calculated to cover actual department costs with a maximum of $250,000. There have been only two circumstances in the past ten years where the magnitude of the proposed project merited the higher application fee. At this time, it is not possible to predict when another large scale project might occur requiring extensive work in processing the application.
