| Current biennium cost increase - General Fund | ||||||
| Fiscal Detail and Notes | ||||||
| Requiring the Department of Administrative and Financial Services to give preference to lamps with the lowest possible mercury content when making purchasing decisions will likely increase the cost to the State. The exact amount of the increase can not be estimated at this time. | ||||||
| Requiring the Department of Environmental Protection to adopt, implement and enforce mercury content standards for lamps, approving manufacturer's recycling plans, producing a report and other administrative duties can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. This assumes the adopted standards will be similar to those currently in place in the European Union and other US states. | ||||||
