Amend the bill in section 1 in section 1 in the 5th line (page 1, line 8 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "pure" and inserting the following: ' pure potable'

Amend the bill in section 1 in section 1 by inserting at the end the following: ' The district is subject to the freedom of access laws under the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 1, chapter 13, subchapter 1.'

Amend the bill in section 2 in section 2 in the 4th paragraph in the 4th line (page 1, line 29 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " that own" and inserting the following: ' who are owners of record of'

Amend the bill in section 2 in section 2 by striking out all of the last paragraph (page 1, lines 32 to 34 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

Any appeal of the district's determination of damages must be filed with the county commissioners within 30 days of notice of the district's written decision provided by personal service in hand by an officer duly qualified to serve civil process in this State or by certified mail return receipt requested.

Amend the bill in section 3 in section 5 in subsection 1 in the first paragraph in the 2nd line (page 2, line 8 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "in the City of Waterville" and inserting the following: ' in the City of Waterville at a location within Waterville, Winslow, Fairfield, Benton or Vassalboro'

Amend the bill in section 3 in section 5 in subsection 1 by striking out all of the last paragraph (page 2, lines 14 to 19 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

‘Trustees are entitled to compensation in accordance with Title 35A, chapter 63 section 6410, subsection 7.’

Amend the bill in section 9 in section 11 in subsection 3 in the 3rd line (page 3, line 38 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "per cent" and inserting the following: ' per cent percent' and in the 5th line (page 4, line 1 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "serial bonds" and inserting the following: ' serial bonds indebtedness'

Amend the bill by striking out all of section 11 (page 4, line 9 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

Sec. 11. P&SL 1899, c. 200, §14,  as amended by P&SL 1981, c. 41, §3, is repealed.

Sec. 12. P&SL 1899, c. 200, §15  is repealed.

Sec. 13. P&SL 1899, c. 200, §16  is repealed.’

Amend the bill by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment makes various technical changes to the bill and removes certain obsolete language from the Kennebec Water District charter. It also removes from the bill the provision allowing the district trustees to establish their compensation, clarifies that the district’s business must be conducted in accordance with the freedom of access laws and provides that an appeal from a decision of the district regarding a determination of damages for a taking of land must be made within 30 days of notice of the decision.
