An Act Regarding the Payment of Medicare Parts B and D Premiums for Employees Eligible for Medicare
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §285, sub-§14 is enacted to read:
14. Retirees eligible for Medicare. Notwithstanding subsections 2 and 7, the State shall pay 100% of the retiree's share of the premiums for Medicare Parts B and D. In accordance with subsection 7, the standard plan identified and offered by the commission and available to retirees must be a companion plan to Medicare coverage paid for by the State pursuant to this subsection.
