An Act To Protect Maine's Groundwater
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 38 MRSA §404-A is enacted to read:
§ 404-A. Interest in groundwater; protections
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the people of this State have the same common interest in groundwater as in fresh surface waters. Groundwater is due all the same protections as fresh surface waters in the lakes and streams of this State.
