An Act To Lower Mandatory Group Participation Rates to 60%
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 24-A MRSA §2850-B, sub-§3, ¶D, as enacted by PL 1997, c. 445, §30 and affected by §32, is amended to read:
D. In the large or small group market, for noncompliance with the carrier's minimum participation requirements that may not exceed 75% 60%;
SUMMARY
Under current law, for purposes of guaranteed renewal, health insurance carriers are permitted to impose minimum participation requirements that may not exceed 75%. This bill reduces the minimum participation requirement to 60%.
