| Sec. 1. Impact on trucking industry. Resolved: That the Department of |
| Public Safety, Bureau of State Police, Commercial Vehicle |
| Enforcement Division in conjunction with the Department of |
| Transportation shall examine the economic impact of its |
| enforcement procedures employed, including, but not limited to, |
| its fine structure and schedule of traffic infractions, on the |
| trucking industry and on the State. In examining this issue, the |
| department shall compare enforcement procedures used in this |
| State with enforcement procedures used in other New England |
| states and New York and New Jersey. Upon completion of its |
| review, the department shall submit its findings, including any |
| necessary implementing legislation, to the Joint Standing |
| Committee on Transportation no later than November 1, 2005. |
