Resolved: That, | | notwithstanding the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 20-A, section | | 6202-A or any other law to the contrary, each school | | administrative unit must cease implementation and use of a local | | assessment system to measure student achievement of the learning | | results established in Title 20-A, section 6209 until legislative | | action by the 122nd Legislature pursuant to section 2 occurs; and | | be it further |

| | | Sec. 2. Review and report. Resolved: That the Joint Standing Committee | | on Education and Cultural Affairs shall review the requirements | | of the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 20-A, section 6202-A and | | local assessment systems that have been put into operation by | | local school administrative units pursuant to that law. The | | committee shall report back by January 15, 2006 to the Second | | Regular Session of the 122nd Legislature with implementing | | legislation making necessary changes to the local assessment | | system requirements, including the improvement or elimination of | | those requirements. |
