| Undetermined current biennium cost increase - General Fund | |||||||
| Fiscal Detail and Notes | |||||||
| There is the potential for a significant increase in costs to the Department of Human Services resulting from the expanded authority to continue care and support for state wards up to the age of 23. The additional cost will depend on the number of such wards the department agrees to continue to provide care and support for, and can not be estimated at this time. | |||||||
| Requiring the Legislature to provide funding for the total expenses of the Legislative Youth Advisory Council beginning July 1, 2005 will require General Fund appropriations to the Legislature of $10,100 annually beginning in fiscal year 2005-06. | |||||||
| Additional costs to the Department of Education, the Department of Behaviorial and Developmental Services, and the Office of the Secretary of State to participate in the required studies and to prepare the required reports can be absorbed utilizing existing budgeted resources. | |||||||
| Additional costs to the University of Maine System, the Maine Community College System, and the Maine Maritime Academy can be absorbed utilizing existing budgeted resources. | |||||||
