| Allocations from the Maine Environmental Protection Fund (Other Special Revenue) of $297,685 in fiscal year 2003-04 and $267,971 in fiscal year 2004-05 to the Department of Envirnmental Protection will be required to fund 2 professional staff to design and implement the ecological and health assesssment studies required pursuant to this bill. This allocation also provides funds for costs associated with the purchase of monitoring equipment and performing the analysis of the expected samples taken during the course of the studies. The projected balance within the Maine Environmental Protection Fund will not be sufficient to cover the proposed allocations. Therefore, this proposal will need to be funded either by the General Fund or an increase in fees to the Maine Envirnomental Protections Fund. | |||||||
