| Holding supervisors personally liable for descrimination in a workplace will result in additional costs for commercial insurance coverage for each state employee which is estimated to be between $429,000 and $715,000 depending on the deductible chosen. In addition to the per employee cost, a per employee charge would have to be asssessed to cover the deductible costs which is estimated at approximately $195,000 a year. It is also expected that the Risk Management Fund within the Department of Administrative and Financial Services would have to cover costs of the supervisor's legal services at an amount that can not be determined at this time. Assuming ten claims are filed annually with an estimated average settlement of $9,000 per claim would amount to a total cost of $714,000 with the $100,000 deductible option or as high as $1,065,000 with a $25,000 deductible option. | |||||||
