| Although the Uniform Unclaimed Property Law does not specifically address bicycles, they were exempt in a previous version of the Unclaimed Property Law (33 MRSA §187[RPL]) and the Office of the Treasurer has not sought to enforce the reporting of them under the new Uniform Unclaimed Property Law. Instead, the procedure has been to continue allowing the local legislative body in a municipality to decide what to do with abandoned bicycles. This bill will bring the law into compliance with current practice and will therefore have no impact on the Office of the Treasurer. | |||||||
