| This bill, if enacted, may affect the amount of subsidy that a local school unit receives for the cost of providing a transitional instruction program for students of limited proficiency in English. The impact to the local school units cannot be determined at this time. This fiscal estimate assumes that local school units currently track the number of students placed in an approved transitional instruction program for federal reporting purposes. Given this assumption, there would be no additional cost to the local school unit to include this student count when preparing their annual student count report to the State. The additional cost to the Department of Education to revise its pupil data collection methods can be absorbed by the Department utilizing existing budgeted resources. | |||||||
