| This bill requires that a person whose probation is revoked be resentenced to the place of imprisonment to which that person was originally sentenced. This requirement will shift a significant segment of the population from the county jails to the state correctional system. General Fund appropriations will be required to open two units at the Maine Correctional Center as well as provide funds associated with an increase in medical services to offenders. | |||||||
