| | | An Act Regarding Distribution of Tobacco Products |

| | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows: |

| | | Sec. 1. 22 MRSA c. 263, sub-c. 4 is enacted to read: |

| | | §1580-L.__Tobacco product manufacturer |

| | | 1.__Definitions.__As used in this section, unless the context | | otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following | | meanings. |

| | | A.__"Brand family" means all styles of cigarettes sold under | | the same trademark and differentiated from one another by | | means of additional modifiers, including, but not limited | | to, menthol, lights, kings and 100s.__"Brand family" | | includes any brand name alone or in conjunction with any | | other word, trademark, logo, symbol, motto, selling message, | | recognizable pattern of colors or any other indicia of | | product identification identical or similar to or | | identifiable with a previously known brand of cigarettes. |

| | | B.__"Cigarette" has the same meaning as in section 1580-H, | | subsection 4. |
