Sec. 1. 10 MRSA §8001, sub-§38, ¶Z-1 is enacted to read:

Z-1.__Board of Registration for Professional Engineers;

Sec. 2. 10 MRSA §8001-A, sub-§9, as enacted by PL 1989, c. 450, §5, is repealed.

SUMMARY

The purpose of this bill is to increase the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation's oversight over the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

Under current law, the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is one of the professional regulatory boards that is affiliated with the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. This bill moves the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers to the list of regulatory boards that comprise the Office of Licensing and Registration within the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation.
