Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

 
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §7101, sub-§5, śN, as enacted by PL 1999, c. 467, §1
and affected by §5, is amended to read:

person to use one or more

 
leashed dogs to track a

 
lawfully wounded deer, moose or

 
bear) $25

 
Sec. 2. Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife directed to amend rules to allow
licensed leashed-dog trackers to charge fee. The Department of Inland
Fisheries and Wildlife shall amend its rules to allow a person
with a leashed-dog tracking license to charge a fee for dog
tracking services.

 
Sec. 3. Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife directed to publish list of licensed
leashed-dog trackers in department's published hunting rules. The Department of
Inland Fisheries and Wildlife shall list all licensed leashed-
dog trackers in any publication of hunting rules the
department publishes that is available to the public.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill directs the Department of Inland Fisheries and
Wildlife to allow a person licensed to track wounded animals
with a leashed dog to charge a fee for the tracking service,
adds moose and bear to the list of game animals that the
tracker may track and requires the department to list all
licensed leashed-dog trackers in any hunting rule publication
the department makes available to the general public.
