SUBCHAPTER I-A

GEOLOGISTS AND SOIL SCIENTISTS

§544-D. Short title

This subchapter may be known and cited as the "Geologists and Soil Scientists Certification Act."

§544-E.__Definitions

As used in this subchapter, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings.

1.__Board. "Board" means the State Board of Certification for Geologists and Soil Scientists.

2.__Certified geologist. "Certified geologist" means a person entitled under this subchapter to take and use that title.

3.__Certified soil scientist. "Certified soil scientist" means a person entitled under this subchapter to take and use that title.

4.__Geologist. "Geologist" means a person engaged in the practice of geology.

5.__Geology. "Geology" means that science that treats the earth as a whole, the investigation of its composition, its size, shape and relationships between consolidated and unconsolidated rock units in the regolith and bedrock and the applied aspects of utilizing knowledge of the earth and its constituents, including its consolidated and unconsolidated rock units, its minerals, liquids, gases and other materials for the benefit of humankind.
