All health maintenance organization individual and group health contracts must provide coverage for dental treatment performed:

1.__Minor.__On a patient who is a minor;

2.__General anesthesia.__Using general anesthesia; and

3.__Hospital setting.__In a hospital.

Sec. 5. Applicability. This Act applies to all policies and contracts executed, delivered, issued for delivery, continued or renewed on or after January 1, 2002. All policies and contracts are deemed to be renewed no later than the next yearly anniversary of the contract date.

This bill requires health insurance policies and contracts to provide coverage for dental treatment performed on minors under general anesthesia in a hospital.
