§1834. Parentage proceeding
                  1. 
                                Proceeding authorized. 
                                A proceeding to adjudicate the parentage of a child may be maintained in accordance with this chapter and applicable rules of procedure.

                  2. 
                                Original actions. 
                                Original actions to adjudicate parentage may be commenced only in District Court.

                  3. 
                                Other proceedings. 
                                The District Court and the Probate Court are authorized to adjudicate parentage under this chapter when parentage is an issue in any other pending proceeding.

                  4. 
                                No right to jury. 
                                There is no right to demand a jury trial in an action to determine parentage.

                  5. 
                                Disclosure of social security numbers. 
                                A person who is a party to a parentage action shall disclose that person's social security number to the court.  The social security number of a person subject to a parentage adjudication must be placed in the court records relating to the adjudication.  The record of a person's social security number is confidential and is not open to the public.  The court shall disclose a person's social security number to the department for child support enforcement purposes.
