Sec. K-1. Light rail commuter corridor requirement; City of Portland. The City of Portland is required to designate a light rail commuter corridor that may accommodate narrow gauge rail as an alternative route to that portion of the Union Branch corridor that the city intends to use for economic development. The alternative route must meet all applicable federal and state requirements and receive the approval of appropriate federal and state agencies. The alignment may not conflict with the proposed Portland North Passenger rail service extension.
