An Act To Reapportion the House Legislative Districts

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

     Sec. 1. 21-A MRSA §1204, as amended by PL 1995, c. 285, §§3 to 8, is repealed.

     Sec. 2. Apportionment of House districts; legislative intent. The Maine House of Representatives consists of 151 Representatives, with one Representative elected from each of the districts established in the unanimous plan for the apportionment of the House districts submitted by the apportionment commission to the Clerk of the House on April 3, 2003. Notwithstanding the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 21-A, the Legislature intends by the passage of this Act to implement the plan establishing the districts and to make the apportionment as described in Appendix A of this Act.
