Resolve, to Direct the Governor to Establish a Commission to Recommend to the Governor Candidate Designs for the Maine State Quarter to be Submitted to the United States Mint
Sec. 1. Establishment of commission. Resolved: That the Governor shall establish a commission composed of 7 public members to recommend to the Governor candidate designs for the Maine state quarter to be submitted to the United States Mint pursuant to the United States Mint 50 State Quarters Program, referred to in this resolve as the "program." The commission shall establish guidelines and procedures to disseminate to the public information concerning the program including the United States Secretary of the Treasury's design criteria and to solicit candidate designs from the public. The commission shall review the candidate designs submitted by the public and shall recommend candidate designs to the Governor to assist the Governor in choosing candidate designs to submit to the United States Mint.
