1.Appointment.
The warden shall appoint suitable persons as chaplains. Notwithstanding Title 5, section 902, subsection 3, any part-time
chaplain position at the Maine State Prison may be a job-sharing position.

2.Duties.
The prison chaplains shall, in accordance with the rules of the prison:
A. Conduct religious services; [1983, c. 459, §6 (NEW).]
B. Visit the sick; [1983, c. 459, §6 (NEW).]
C. Labor diligently and faithfully for the mental, moral and religious improvement of the prisoners; and [1983, c. 459, §6 (NEW).]
D. Aid the prisoners, when practicable, in obtaining employment after their discharge. [1983, c. 459, §6 (NEW).]

3.Powers.
The chaplains may, with the assent of the warden, establish a religious educational program and may admit persons of proper
character from outside the prison to assist in it.
