§5-604. Nomination of public guardian or conservator
(a).
Any person who is eligible to petition for appointment of a guardian under section 5-303, subsection (a), including the
commissioner of any state department, the head of any state institution, the overseers of the poor, and the welfare director
or health officer of any municipality may nominate the public guardian.

(b).
Any person who is eligible to petition for appointment of a conservator under section 5-404, subsection (a), including the
commissioner of any state department, the head of any state institution, the overseer of the poor, and the welfare director
or health officer of any municipality may nominate the public conservator.

(c).
Except as supplemented by section 5-605, the proceedings for determining the appointment of a public guardian or conservator
shall be governed by the provisions of this Article for the appointment of guardians and conservators generally.
