Fiscal Detail and Notes
This bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $126,550 to the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry beginning in fiscal year 2023-24 for one full-time Public Service Coordinator I position, one part-time Contract/Grants Manager position and associated costs. The bill also includes ongoing Other Special Revenue Funds allocations of $1,170 to ACF beginning in fiscal year 2023-24 for the technology management costs associated with the positions. The bill establishes the Maine Experiential Education Program Fund to provide grants to public schools and school administrative units to help develop experiential education programs and fund positions. The bill includes allocations of $500 beginning in fiscal year 2023-24 to establish the fund and allow for expenditures when additional resources are dedicated to the fund.  
Additional costs to the Department of Education associated with collaborating with the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry and other state agencies and nonprofit organizations on the Maine Experiential Education Program can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
