|
This bill
prohibits using state funds to provide a rebate, incentive, or other subsidy
to purchase or lease an electric vehicle, defined as a vehicle powered
entirely or partially by an electric motor. The Efficiency Maine Trust (EMT)
is the only state-level entity providing incentives for electric vehicles.
Given that the EMT is a quasi-independent agency that does not receive
General Fund appropriations, this fiscal note assumes that the electric
vehicle incentive program offered through the EMT is not prohibitred by this
bill. |
