|
This amendment
eliminates the ongoing General Fund appropriations totaling $1,901,778 per
year included in the bill beginning in fiscal year 2023-24 to the General
Purpose Aid for Local Schools program within the Department of Education to
support the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM) and instead
provides one-time General Fund appropriations of $500,000 per year in both
fiscal year 2023-24 and fiscal year 2024-25 for the same purpose. |

The amendment also
requires the State Controller to transfer $500,000 from the Department of
Professional and Financial Regulation, Bureau of Consumer Credit, Other
Special Revenue Funds account to the General Fund unappropriated surplus no
later than June 30, 2024 to offset the fiscal year 2023-24 General Fund
appropriation. |
